Marry me the right way.

If this doesn't describe the most perfect wedding proposal for me, then I don't know what does.

If theres musicals and Disney then I'm a happy girl.

halle berry raspberry

so i'm going to try to fit a recap of this past week in one post because i want to avoid having to have a post of recapping a whole month.

i just got back from a really crazy weekend in vegas with only the greatest girls on the face of the planet! i had soooooooooooooo much fun, and basically it was just us four all weekend!! (THANKS MAR, V, & HAZ!) we went for buffet's birthday (buffet = bffae if you're not catching along) which was today.. hmmmm.. yesterday. JUNE 28! so if you haven't already, go greet her happy birthday! more on this later.

first and foremost.

i dont know about ya'lllllllllll but.
i cannot believe michael jackson is dead. i really couldn't believe my ears when i found out
--the wonders of having a facebook = knowing EVERYTHING about music, sports, and other people's business in a matter of minutes and seconds via status updates. if it weren't for facebook i would not know anyone's last names, birthdays, EDC's-hour-long-"intermission" (yeah right, intermission guy!! you swear people aren't peaking at midnight!!) or who's winning FIFA championship.

back to MJ. its so surreal and ridiculous. i kind of didnt expect it to happen while i'm 22 years old. am i making sense? my mom said its like when elvis died. such a legend, gone without any expectation. then again, no one expects it.. but who knew he'd go out like this? while planning a comeback! ugh.. so sad.
i remember being a kid and singing michael jackson's songs. shit, my MOM loved michael jackson! that has to mean something. when maybe about 3-4 generations TODAY have/still enjoy his work and music. my mom swing dances to his music, everyone my age and their older sibling probably have memorized the dance to thriller, and little kids are memorizing the words of PYT because the jabbawockeez did a routine.
he was so universal to age and to culture. alsfjdalskjfalsfj;alk g
i had CHILLS on thursday-saturday when every radio station you put on, someone was playing his song. every car was blasting his cd, every status update was about MJ.

saturday night when we went to TAO.. dj vice and had a 20 minute set for MJ. and right before he played, he said "a moment of silence in honor of michael jackson. and if you've ever been to tao, its HUGE. and the main room is crazy. packed from wall to wall. now-- imagine all those people.. quiet. and he played like a 10 second acapella of "rock with you" and everyone started to sing along. omggg my heart just hurt thinking about it. you had to be there.

here's a video that we tried to take but we couldn't get the beginning of it. sucks.

so. rest in peace to one of the greatest entertainers of our lifetime.
so legendary &talented--his life, music and legacy will really live on forever.

now, for the weekend-- about a week or 2 ago, we decided to go to vegas because at that time no one was going to edc. so hazel was able to book our hotel. FAIL! turns out that 2 days before edc, everyone buys their freakin' ticket.

but it turns out it was not so fail. i had so much fun this weekend with just the girls. we got there on friday at like 2 in the morning. we got there, got ready, and started drinking with mar's friends. we walked the strip and got back at 530 fnr. we were gonna eat breakfast but the filipino hostess was too stressed out and with all the other drunk people. mar on the other hand managed to come back home at 8am. "blown. blown!"

hit the pool the next day looking to get tanned
ended up getting drunk, i'm not sure how we didn't drown.
pina coladas by the pool were stronger than we expected.

did i mention this was our view from the hotel room? i know.

getting ready to go down to the pool.

our curiously strong pina coladas.

entered a "whats your sexiest secret" contest so we can win a bucket of beer.
wish you knew what marissa wrote.

chipoodle for lunch after.
why do we always eat here?

napped 2 hours. & got ready for tao
we met up with pat, ging, pj, gel & co.
rache & chris, grace & gilbert, and ella came too

we managed to lose everyone by 2-- i'm not sure how
but we were ready to peace the eff out by that time and walked back to our hotel room--maybe the happiest and greatest walk ever. you REALLY just had to be there.

"lets take a picture now before we look tore up"

birthday girl and the boys.

midnigiht--HAPPY BIRTHDAY V!

our favorite view.

rollie pollies. mmm 4/6 =(
before we lost the 702 hoes

one of my favorite parts of the night
was when vice was dj'ing and skratchy was on the mic
all we heard was "HAPPY BIRTHDAY VANESSA!"
and we all realized they said vanessa's name.
then we looked at the DJ and vice & skratchy were pointing right at us!
HAHAHAHA, the look on vanessa's face was PRICELESS! --THANKS PRINCESS CC, aka bossman.

the rest of the night is history
can't say much about it! well there is actually a lot i can say about it, but what is the fun in that!

the greatest walk home ever.

the man with the lei but we'll choose not to remember his face.

--thanks girls for the greatest weeeeeeeeeeeeekend ever!! part 2 next weekend, already! i'm not sure if my body can handle it. looks like i'll be sleeping with socks and loading up on my vitamin c all week.
i really am so lucky to have you girls as my girls. LOL, words cannot explain saturday night/sunday morning. with the drinks, the dolce and gabanas, the raspberries and halle berries, the dolphins and the snails and the pet dinosaurs, the bathroom & shower and pina coladas.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VANESSA!

Cue the trap door.

SO, it has been a good while since I've really updated this thang. I think I've lost my blogging bug because I've lost the need to write anything.

School has really kicked my ass lately. But this summer a load has been taken off my back only to be replaced with a heavier one.. All this medsurg shmedsurg and nursing diagnoses and signs and symptoms and plans of care.

I'd rather not talk about it but everyone seems to ask. So the answer is:

Yes, school is great. I'll let you know when I'm about to graduate.

The day HAS come.. San Diego grew a little on me. I said a little. With the help of a couple friendly faces, I have reasons to act like a normal college student here down souf. But a little taste of home and I'm on the 5 north in a split second. Meow!

Here's a little recap of what's been going aaaan in the past couple monfs.

Just last month, Florgin invited me to go with her to SUNGOD. This musical festival type shenanigans at UCSD that happens every year. It was her last year and my last chance to go. It was fun-- NERD headlined, with Girltalk, Sara Bareilles (who even listens to her??), Motion City Soundtrack (which i missed) and some other randoms.
Besides the music, I punched a girl in the face and probably one of the most funniest things I've ever done. It was the biggest rush, and I'll probably never do it again.

For those of you who don't really know. I'm not a fighter. I'm the least confrontational person on the face of this earth. In fact, I'm a pussy! (please refer to previous blog post about my nose ring) So this was a huge deal. I'll never walk away feeling so accomplished until the day I graduate nursing school. HAHA. is that sad? Maybe, but suck it! Or i'll punch you in the face!

I came home the following weekend to find out that our fellow airman came home: Justin Nepomuceno. Sadly he came home for a funeral, for a friend of theirs who was killed in a motorcycle accident. I never knew him, but I've heard great things about him--Rest in Peace Armando.

Celebrated Memorial Day weekend at home and had a BBQ at the Monrovia house and hung out with the roomies. I've been spending a lot of time with them lately, nothing better with hanging out with a bunch of people who are like your big brothers and sisters. Fuhreal.

Just last week was probably the funnest/sleepless weeks I've had in a while. On Saturday, went to Huntington Beach to celebrate Ate Jenn's birthday with SC. The next day, we watched the LAKERS win the championship at ESPN zone at dtown Disney and watched spent the rest of the night at disneyland. i drove back home to san diego that night to attend class the next day.. stayed in san diego for 2 days, got a call from holiday inn saying i got the job.. then headed back down to LA. TUESDAY, we went to disneyland AGAIN with the australians --fely & mitch.

i skipped class on wednesday to go to the laker parade. i know i knoooooow, school first. but really? i don't know when they might ever win again (next year!) and everyone was going. i couldn't pass it up!
we had gotten home super super late from disneyland the night before , that we didn't get up like 3am like all the xxxhardcorexxx fans did. although, i DO wish i did. but we settled for going to the parade route which was still super worth it. the house ended up getting up around 7am and catching the redline by north hollywood all the way down to the staples center. THAT was an experience. it was fun, i think i'd like take the metro more. yay for public transportation. wayyy booo for corners that smell like piss.

omgwtfkobebbq!
for the laker parade. it was SO much fun.. to live in los angeles for 20+ years and to go to a parade couldn't make me more proud to be from LA, no homo! i really hope they win again soon. people getting off the bus were all saying "see you next year!" eeeeeeeeeeehks, i kinda get chills when i think about it. so much hate for LA in the NBA, but to be from there and win.. aaaaaaaaaaaaah. makes you wanna say "suck it" to everyone else who's talked shit to the lakers. kobe has 4 reasons for you to shut the hell up and the lakers have 15 reasons for you to bow down.
for more laker pride starvation rhythm nation-- check out angelito's note on fb if you know him. good friend of mine who keeps me on top of my laker game.

theres nothing like the look of odom's face after seeing his team on a wheaties box!

anyway....

we got home and i swear i felt like i only took a 10 minute nap. kuya armand bought me tickets to the dodger games against the A's. so we were out to the stadium around 6-7pm ish... it was my first gaaaaaaaaaaaaaame and it was sooo much fuuuun. i'm so mad at myself for never going before. i feel like such a bandwagon jumper, but it was fun. and i want to goooo again soon.

waiting for the redline.

off figueroa with SC-ers

los doyers

after the doyers game, i dont know how we did it, but we got home late AGAIN. the girls and i had heard about a rumored laker parade at disneyland the next day at 10am. so obbbvvv we had to go. ---(please notice that i've been blogging for a while now and stopped worrying about my capitalization.. random, i know)-- Good shit, putting our passes to use!! So the next day, we got up super early.. Got to Disneyland before it even opened, and low and behold.. you can see the lines of people wearing purple and gold waiting for disneyland to open. it sounds bad, but it really wasn't. it wasn't as bad as any other day at disneyland. but since we got there early we got good seats for the parade and it was well worth the wait. especially since v and hazel didn't get to go to the laker parade in dtown-- this made up for it. well kinda. it was only kobe there, but vanessa was happy. shamwow for her.

here's kobe after the parade in front of the castle doing some media press.

close right??? heeeeeeeeeeelllllll yeah.

P.S.
Thanks Kuya Armand for the dodger tickets and for my lakers/disney shirt
and thanks J for scooping it up for us!

anyway. i started watching weeds too, you should too. thanks reggie for introducing me to it.

i'm going to vegas this weekend for vanessa's birthday. with the girls, and holy shit i am excited. its making up for not going to edc, if you know what i mean. some of you will be getting some very special text messages on saturday night. i'm looking to make some bad decisions and take inappropriate pictures and possibly wake up on the roof or something. i've been good all year!!

Happy Fathers Day to all your daddies and yo baby daddies and you daddy's daddies.

dad,
thank you for always changing my oil, washing my car, and buying us burritos.
i'm pretty sure if we could, we'd eat burritos every day.
thanks for trying to fix my hair when i was 6 years old because mom worked the night shift and was never home to do it herself.
thanks for teaching me that being on time was better than being late.
thanks for always cooking for me. i love when you surprise me with milkshakes.
thanks for replying to all my essay long texts even though its just with "K"
thanks for being an stubborn sometimes because i've learned that sometimes giving in is giving up.
thanks for coming home with new bootleg dvd's all the time. you're always up on your movie game.
thanks for always taking care of me and mom.
thanks for keeping my head straight.. teaching me discipline and consequences.
thanks for always spending your social security money on me--shit, i really am spoiled.
thanks for making the greatest steak ever.
thanks for calling me every day.

i miss when we'd go out to the movie theatre and movie hop all day.
i'm sorry i'm so stubborn now and act like i'm too cool cause i'm 22 years old but the truth is that i really wish i was still 8 years old and spend time with you without money or school or real responsibility to worry about.

i think about you every day that i'm in san diego and i wish i was home to hang out with you.
but hopefully when i graduate i can spoil you just like you've spoiled me.

hopefully i marry someone as great as you who will do anything for their children.
if he's half the man you are than i know i'll be okay.

i love you!

Interesting

How things change when you're away for a while.
People change exactly how they'd say they wouldn't.
What a shame?
