Day 3 -- Your Parents

Dear Momsies & Popsicle,

I could go on days and days for all the unconditional things you've done for me in the past 23 years. FOR REAL. But I'd like to thank you for all the ridiculous things I'll remember you both for, and some of the things that I will not be able to hold back from when I have my own children. One day I'll laugh my ass off cause of some of this shit, and some I will simply smile and remember how much you've taught me.

- like how being late is NOT okay.
- dressing to church means dressing up, and not dressing down.
- church time is only an hour of your whole week, that isn't much to ask.
- family first, always.
- stealing cookies from the buffet is okay.
- baon-ing a few eggrolls is okay too.. What? you might get hungry later.
- sneaking in snacks into the movie theatre is very smart.
- your purse pretty much has your life in it, get a big one.
- how to wisely choose a slot machine that is "warmed up"
- the more you caress the slot machine, it will be nice to you.
- when you win, share your winnings.
- it is always better to give, than to take.
- no one likes to see a cranky face.
- brains is better than beauty, "But you're lucky your Mom is cute,"
- no one can ever take your education away.
- find a boyfriend who thinks you're too good for him, because you'll think he's perfect for you.
- if he doesn't show [that he loves] you now, he probably won't show you later.
- you become the people you hang out with.
- the higher you stick up your nose, the less you'll see what's on the ground. (REAL TALK?!)

You guys are nuts. But aside from all the times i've rolled my eyes, I really am listening. And Mom, I hate to say it:

But I'm starting to see you when I look in the mirror.

Oh Jesus.

It's actually starting to scare the shit out of me, but if I become half the woman you are, I'll be okay.

- Inday.
