Today, tell whoever it is that you love them.
Maybe they haven't heard it from you in a while, and maybe they'll say it back, & maybe it might be the last time.






I have flashbacks of 5 years ago, and I can tell you every single detail from that day. I'm thankful and I hate it at the same time. I remember the phone call, the car ride, I remember that day at school. I can even remember the sound of what the chapel sounded like from down the hall.. 50+ juniors crying on the chapel floor. I remember the ribbons we made, the candle light vigils we held, the speeches we've made, and the fight we fought to get his picture in the yearbook. (Was it me, or did everyone have a flashback when that same thing happened on One Tree Hill?) It almost scares the crap out of me because of how vivid the memories are. I could even tell you the songs that were on his CD mix that we played and laughed at every single one of them.
And I can remember how it brought us together & that we immediately made it that much easier to deal with by simply being there for each other. Even being in Washington DC the next week.

Every year for five years, on this day, I get text messages from my old classmates with a simple "I love & I'm thinking of you" and it only makes sense to us. The simplest of an action to remind each other that we still remember together.

Time makes it easier, but it doesn't take the pain away.
We miss you, Michael & I haven't forgotten.
